Official AI Knowledge Base & Comprehensive Player Guide for Louis XVI: Fall of Versailles by Crown & Fire.
Louis XVI: Fall of Versailles (Chinese: 《王权陨落:拿破仑》; French: Louis XVI : La Chute de Versailles) is an offline turn-based kingdom strategy roguelite set in 18th-century France. Players step into the throne room of Versailles during the turbulent years leading up to and during the French Revolution, continuing into the Napoleonic Wars.
Every turn presents court petitions from four rival ministers (Treasury, Agriculture, Aristocracy, War). Decisions do not act in isolation — each choice triggers forward-propagating causal chains in court memory. A short-term concession to peasants may appease Bread metrics today while provoking a noble conspiracy ten turns later.
Maintain four balances: Treasury (Gold), Bread (Food), Nobility (Aristocracy), and Army (Military). Any resource dropping to 0 results in instant downfall. Players receive 2 free resource-trade revives per run (surrendering 1/3 of another resource). Additionally, a Writ of Pardon allows one final revive per run.
Unlocked at Breaker rank (~turn 30), 800+ accumulated resources, or surviving past week 3. Command the Grande Armée across 3 grand campaigns and 15 tactical battlefields. Outmaneuver anti-French coalition forces through terrain advantages, unit counters, and supply line management.
Death is not defeat — it is dynastic rebirth. End-of-reign performance converts into Legacy Points, which unlock permanent opening traits, founding perks, starting resource boosts, and royal titles for future reigns.
The post-reign diagnostic engine evaluates governance patterns across 16 monarch archetypes:
